Mental Health Social Work
I work with young people aged 12 and over, individuals, couples and families experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, stress and relationship difficulties.
Sessions provide space to explore your concerns, identify what you would like to change and develop practical strategies that fit your circumstances. My approach considers your experiences, relationships and the wider systems that affect your well-being.
I draw on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and mindfulness, tailoring our work to your needs and goals.
In-person and telehealth appointments are available.
HOW I CAN HELP
For individuals and young people
Sessions offer a supportive space to explore concerns, manage challenges and develop practical strategies that fit your needs.
For parents and families
Support may include parenting strategies and, with your consent, liaison with schools and teachers.
For couples
Sessions may focus on communication, relationship difficulties and managing conflict.
Eating disorders fall outside my scope of practice and require specialist support.
MEDICARE
A Mental Health Treatment Plan allows you claim up to 10 rebatable sessions with a mental health professional each calendar year. Medicare rebates are available through Better Access to Mental Health Care GP referrals (please make an appointment with your GP to discuss referrals). A mental health care plan can make your appointments more affordable by providing a rebate that can be claimed through Medicare.
NDIS Services
The National Disability Insurance Scheme The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) provides support to Australians under 65 who live with a permanent and significant disability. I work closely with both children and adults to help them achieve their individual goals. I am available to see participants who are Self-Managed or Plan-Managed.
DVA Provider
I am an approved provider with DVA for current and former members of the ADF who hold a white card or gold card. Please see your GP for a referral to KA Family Well-being to access mental health support.
Queensland Police - Self-refer
I am an approved provider with the Queensland Police Service Self-refer program for current Queensland Police members. Please contact me to arrange an appointment.
Queensland Fire Department
I am an approved provider with the Queensland Fire Department for current members of the Queensland Fire Department and their families. Please contact me to arrange an appointment.
Queensland Ambulance Service - Priority One
I am an approved provider with the Queensland Ambulance Service through their Priority One service for current members of the Queensland Ambulance Service and their families. Please contact me to arrange an appointment.
WorkCover Queensland
If you have sustained an injury at work, you may be eligible to claim benefits from WorkCover Queensland or your employer if they are Self-Insured. Once WorkCover Queensland has accepted your claim, they may pay for reasonable medical and rehabilitation expenses related to your claim – this may include psychological therapy.
You have the option to pay for sessions and be reimbursed by WorkCover, or you can await approval from WorkCover to pre-approve your sessions.
